A booking desk, not a fleet
Odovera is a brand of Affluence Hospitality LLC, a registered travel agency. We arrange car rental reservations with third-party rental suppliers for travellers in the United States and Canada. We do not own vehicles, run counters or employ the person who hands you the keys.
The name is a compound: odo, from odometer — the part of a car that counts honestly and never rounds in its own favour — and vera, true. It is a slightly earnest name for a business built on the belief that the number quoted and the number paid should match.
Most of what we do is unremarkable: read the trip, compare the suppliers, write down the total, check it again later. It only looks like a differentiator because so much of this industry is built to avoid the last step.
Four commitments we will be held to
The total is the price
A daily rate with taxes, airport recovery fees, surcharges and add-ons stripped out is not a price, it is an advertisement. Every quote we send is an all-in estimate with each line named. If we cannot state a number confidently, we say it is an estimate and explain what could move it.
We quote the ones that pay us less
Suppliers pay us different commission rates. Recommending the cheaper one for your trip regularly costs us money, and we do it anyway — because an agency that quietly steers you toward its best-paying supplier is not an agency, it is a sales channel wearing one’s clothes.
One agent, all the way through
Booking is easy. Being reachable when the counter says no is the hard part. Your agent’s name and direct line are on your confirmation, and they stay with your file until the car comes back.
We say what we are
We are an agency, on every page, in our ads and in the first sentence an agent says on the phone. Nobody should discover at the counter that the company they booked with does not own the car.
Things worth stating plainly
We are not a car rental company. Odovera is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any car rental brand. Where we name suppliers, it is only to identify who we can book with. Their trademarks belong to them.
Your contract is with the supplier. The rental agreement you sign at the counter is between you and the rental company, under their terms. They set the deposit, the coverage, the fuel policy and the decision about whether to release a car to you. We can advocate for you; we cannot overrule them.
How we are paid. Suppliers pay us commission on most bookings. Where a service fee applies, it is itemised on your quote before you approve it. See how we work for the detail.
No fabricated proof. You will not find invented customer reviews, made-up star ratings, countdown timers, fake "3 people are viewing this" counters or price comparisons we cannot substantiate on this site. If we ever publish testimonials, they will be real, attributed and collected with permission.
Prices. We do not advertise headline daily rates on this site, because a rate without dates, a location, a class and a driver age is not information — it is bait. You get a number when we can quote a real one for your trip.
