Car rental in Miami

Miami Beach and Brickell branches serve people staying in the city and driving out — to the Keys, the Everglades or up the coast — and they price differently from the airport.

Why visitors rent here

What the car is actually for

  • The Keys, the Everglades and Palm Beach are all day trips requiring a car
  • Beach neighbourhoods are spread along the coast rather than clustered
  • Two airports within an hour widen the supplier choice

How collecting the car works

1

You approve a written all-in total from a named agent. Nothing is reserved before that.

2

We send the rental supplier’s own confirmation number, in your name. You can verify it with them directly.

3

You present your licence and a card in the main driver’s name at the counter, and they take the deposit.

4

You sign the rental agreement with the supplier, not with us. What you need to bring.

What catches people out in Miami

Card rules are tighter here than most markets

South Florida locations more often require extra identification or decline debit cards outright. If you will not have a credit card in the main driver’s name, say so before we book so we can confirm that specific branch’s rule.

The Keys drive is longer than the map suggests

Miami to Key West is a full day each way in practice, on a mostly single-carriageway road. Size the class for seat time rather than for the daily rate.

Want us to check Miami for your dates?

An agent will compare the suppliers available and send the all-in total for each, with the counter rules confirmed.

What we will not claim about Miami

  • We do not publish a headline daily rate here. A rate without your dates, class and driver age is not information.
  • We are not claiming to be the cheapest option for this market. Sometimes a corporate or loyalty rate booked direct beats anything we can quote, and we will say so.
  • We do not state any rental company’s deposit, card or age policy as fixed. Those are theirs, they differ by branch, and we confirm yours in writing instead.
  • Odovera is an independent travel agency, not a car rental company. The vehicle is supplied by the rental company you sign with at the counter.
Questions

Car rental in Miami — asked and answered

Can I rent in Miami with a debit card?

Sometimes, and this is one of the stricter markets for it. Rules are set per supplier and per branch. Tell us before booking and we will confirm in writing which counters will accept it.

Is Fort Lauderdale cheaper for a Miami trip?

Frequently, and it is only about 45 minutes north. When your schedule allows it we price both, including the one-way option.

Is Odovera a car rental company?

No. Odovera is an independent travel agency, a brand of Affluence Hospitality LLC. We arrange reservations with third-party rental suppliers on your behalf and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any rental brand. You sign the rental agreement with the supplier at the counter, under their terms.

Does it cost more than booking direct?

Usually not. On most bookings the supplier pays us a commission out of the rate you were going to pay anyway. Where a service fee applies instead, it is shown as its own line on the quote before you approve anything. Where booking direct genuinely wins — a corporate rate, loyalty status — we tell you.
