Canyon traction rules in winter
Access to the Cottonwood canyons is restricted in winter conditions, and requirements are enforced. Booking a class labelled SUV does not guarantee all-wheel drive at any US supplier — if you need AWD, it has to be requested specifically, and even then it is a request rather than a guarantee. We will tell you exactly what the supplier has committed to.
Parks trips are a mileage question
Zion, Bryce, Arches and Canyonlands from Salt Lake is a long loop. Confirm any mileage cap before booking, and size the class for hours in the seat rather than the daily rate.
Ski racks are limited stock
Racks are a paid add-on with thin availability in peak weeks, and chains are prohibited by many suppliers. Settle both before booking, not at the counter on a Friday in January.
